KIN – Season 1 Episode 7 – SPOILERS<\/h4>\n
\"Frank<\/a>

Frank’s brother Bren<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Amanda<\/strong> (Clare Dunne) is very methodical. She hires her own lawyer and persuades Jenny Lawlor<\/strong> (Denise McCormack) to say (for $500K) that her dead husband (see Episode 1.3<\/a>) did all the money laundering the cops are likely to charge her with. Then Amanda kisses Michael<\/strong> (Charlie Cox<\/a>). When he asks her if she’s trying to to blow everything up, she responds “Boom”<\/em>. When her son (Mark McKenna Jr) tells her that he had a threatening visit from Con Doyle<\/strong> (Keith McErlean), she asks: “What exactly what did he say to you?”<\/em> It seems that Amanda is preparing for an upcoming court case. <\/p>\n

\"Anna<\/a>

Anna<\/strong> (Hannah Adeogun<\/a>) and her grandmother Winnie<\/strong> (Jennifer Ogedegbe).<\/p><\/div>\n

Meanwhile, Birdy<\/strong> (Maria Doyle Kennedy<\/a>) tries to make peace with Eamon Cunningham<\/strong> (Ciar\u00e1n Hinds<\/a>), and it does not work. Cunningham is recovering from a bad yaj\u00e9<\/em> trip and seems even more impatient and irascible than usual. In this series it is the men who are ruled by their emotions, and the women who are calm and logical. <\/p>\n

Viking<\/strong> (Sam Keeley<\/a>) goes to prison. Frank<\/strong> (Aidan Gillen<\/em>) tries to get his brother Bren<\/strong> (Francis Magee<\/a>), who has been in prison for a while and is the father of Jimmy and Michael, to protect him inside, but Bren is more than a little ticked off at the trouble Frank’s boy has caused. He declines, asserting (correctly but impolitely, and with homophobic overtones) that Frank is a terrible crime boss. Then Nikki<\/strong> (Yasmin Seky<\/a>) visits Viking and essentially tells him she won’t be there when he gets out. <\/p>\n

\"Monica<\/a>

Kate Stanley Brennan<\/a> as Monica Butler<\/strong> who hands Michael a restraining order and a lecture along with it.<\/p><\/div>\n

Michael gets served with a restraining order preventing him from going anywhere near his daughter Anna<\/strong> (Hannah Adeogun). Of course, Anna promptly drops by to see Michael, who explains about the restraining order and sends her away, but on her way home three thugs try to kidnap her. Anna kicks up enough fuss to attract attention and the three assailants leave empty-handed. She returns to Michael and tells him to fix the situation. When Amanda brings Anthony home, Michael is there and he tells her about Anna’s near-kidnapping. “We need to end this thing,”<\/em> says Amanda. “Chop the head off the snake.”<\/em><\/p>\n

As she speaks that last line, we see Cunningham at home floating in a swimming pool with a haunted expression on his face. It seems doubtful that Amanda is contemplating an assassination. Cunningham has too much security for that, but there might be other ways to take Cunningham out of the picture. <\/p>\n

Eamon Cunningham<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Someone is likely to die next episode, though, because next week is the season finale. It might be Jimmy, and we still don’t know what Michael’s neurological problems exactly are. Frank doesn’t really control anything so his death would be fairly meaningless, and Viking is out of the picture now.<\/p>\n

So far in the series, the only weapons used have been handguns. There have been no AK-47s or the like, and no explosives. Ireland has perhaps the least permissive firearms legislation<\/a> in Europe, so that might be the reason, but possession of handguns is also heavily regulated there. <\/p>\n
