Tricia Helfer<\/a> (Dracula<\/em> in 9 episodes)<\/span> is Gloria<\/b> in THE GREAT SALISH HEIST, the story of Steve Joe<\/em> (Darrell Dennis<\/a>), an archeologist nearing rock bottom who believes he can stop the downward trajectory of his life by reclaiming the artefacts of the (fictional) Moquahat<\/em> people from the local museum. Said artefacts are part of a First Nations exhibition scheduled to tour Europe. Steve puts together a team of burglars to rescue the relics from this ignominious fate. Producer Leslie Bland told Courtney Dickson of CBC<\/a>: “What’s great about this film is you’re seeing Indigenous people having agency. There’s no white saviour in this film. They take charge of their own issue.”<\/em> THE GREAT SALISH HEIST had its US premiere at the 2024 Global Stage Hollywood Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jesse Stanley and Victor Dolhai<\/p><\/div>\n

Jesse Stanley<\/a> (Bathory<\/i> in 8 episodes – The Oracle<\/em> in 16 episodes)<\/span> is Tal<\/b> in RAF, a dark comedy written and directed by Harry Cepka<\/a>. Raf<\/em> (Grace Glowicki<\/a>) who works two jobs and spends her free time playing boardgames with her boyfriend’s roommates, meets and becomes infatuated with the rich and charismatic Tal<\/em>. The relationship makes Raf begin to see herself in a new and different light, but when she visits Tal’s home in the country, the limitations of that relationship become apparent. Raf is currently not available for streaming.<\/p>\n

Stanley is also Amy Lauder<\/b>, elder sister of Harold Lauder<\/em> (Owen Teague<\/a>) and former classmate of Frannie Goldsmith<\/em> (Odessa Young<\/a>) in Ben Cavil and Josh Boone<\/a>‘s TV adaptation of THE STAND<\/a> by Stephen King. Instead of taking a summer job her parents arranged for her, med student Waverly<\/em> (Andrea Bang<\/a>) makes an impulsive detour to a small Canadian town to visit her aunt (Michelle Krusiec<\/a>). When she almost drowns at a beach party she meets lifeguard Blake<\/em> (Robbie Amell<\/a>), and after Blake offers to teach her to swim, the two find themselves falling in love. Sarah Desjardins<\/a> (Catherine<\/em> in 4 Van Helsing episodes)<\/span> appears in the film as Blake’s sister Isabel<\/em>. FLOAT<\/a> can be streamed on TUBI<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Heyerdahl is also Chief Bagan<\/b> in THE BOY IN THE WOODS, a film based on the memoir by Canadian Holocaust survivor Maxwell Smart<\/a>. The true-life survival tale is told from the perspective of Max<\/em> (Jett Klyne<\/a>), a Jewish boy hiding and being hunted in the forests of Eastern Europe during World War II. Lucie Guest<\/a> stars as Jessie Gephart<\/em>, a mother fleeing her abusive ex-husband. Jessie hasn’t told her daughter Michelle<\/em> (Cassandra Sawtell<\/a>) the truth about her father, so Michelle doesn’t know why they’re running and resents her mother for disrupting her life. To conceal this, Nicholas burned down the lab with Jules and all the unfortunate mutants inside, but Jules and other experimental victims took enough Eterna<\/em> to survive the fire, and years later, they return for revenge. RESURRECTION FACTOR premiered last December at the Dunbar Theatre<\/a> in Vancouver.<\/p>\n
