The A.I. and the Elevator
⁓ SURREALESTATE- Season 2 Episode 9 – SPOILERS ⁓
Leaving the hospital after visiting Zooey, Luke (Tim Rozon) notices that Anya (Maddie Hemeon) cannot seem to cross the street even though the light has changed. He asks if she is all right, and she explains that she is searching for her mother
LUKE: “Where’d you leave her?”
ANYA: “We were arguing and then this big white car came out of nowhere and…”
LUKE: “You’ve been waiting here for a while?”
ANYA: “I just keep thinking she’ll be here. If I keep coming back, she’ll be here. But nobody will talk to me; they just walk past me like I’m not there, except you. You’re different.”

Sugenja Sri as Joiti – Sri also stars as Jessica Connolly in the romantic comedy CHRISTMAS LUCKY CHARM.
Luke realizes that his spirit-whispering power is back, and that he has probably walked past Anya many times without noticing. “You know what your mom would want you to do, right?” he asks. She explains that she and her mom argue a lot, and Luke draws on his recent experience with his own mother. “Doesn’t matter,”, he tels Anya. “She loves you. Thing with moms is, even if she’s not there to say it – it doesn’t mean she doesn’t care. She wants the best for you always. And the best for you just isn’t here anymore. You go ahead. You cross.” Halfway across the avenue, Anya vanishes.
Back at the office, Luke reveals the return of his powere, and explains that Zooey (Savannah Basley) is bruised, bleeding, and mad as a wet cat.

Daniel Malik as Nasser – Malik will be Finch in four episodes of Zak Penn‘s Sci-Fi series BEACON 23.
After Zooey comes back to work, what she says she saw at Susan’s house worries Phil (Adam Korson). “There’s centuries of mirror mythology,”, he says, “that suggests an attraction to souls, the ability to trap them and the will to hold them indefinitely.”
The team has found little information on previous owners and/or residents of Susan’s house, other than the name of the builder, a Mr. Thomas Rabbitfoot. Zooey is tasked with persuading the bank involved to be more forthcoming. Research into Susan’s rescue is interrupted by a phone call from Lomax (Elena Juatco), whose client Nasser (Daniel Malik) has had a knife thrown at him by the spirit of his wife’s first husband.
Zayan Wali (Varun Saranga) has returned from the other side to prevent his former wife Joiti (Sugenji Sri) from selling the house they had shared before his sudden death. Zayan left behind an impressive comic book collection that includes Wynonna Earp Legends nos. 1 & 2,(which was co-authored by Beau Smith and Tim Rozon, and WE Legends no. 3 (written by Melanie Scrofano), along with a wall poster for Wynonna Earp: All In, a collection of all WE comics published since the start of the TV series.
When Zayan’s spirit returns to the land of the living, he is surprised to learn he is dead, and even more surprised that his wife has remarried, so the process of crossing over seems to erase all memory of after-death experiences. Eventually Zayan sees the light and departs. One wonders if, once back on the other side, he will remember what happened in this short visit to Joiti.

Lomax has Zayan’s collectibles appraised, and informs Joiti they might be worth six figures. Luke gets back to the task of rescuing Susan (Sarah Levy), whose smart house has, unknown to the rest of the Roman Agency, suggested to her an unspecified compromise. Susan’s response was a flaming middle finger, so she likely did not agree to whatever it was. Nonetheless, an assembled crew of realtors, along with Augie’s friend Rochelle (Joy Tanner) prepare to storm Susan’s castle and free her. Then the elevator doors open and Susan emerges, asking to see Luke privately.
